Primary Years

International School of Piraeus is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme, PYP (since 2015). The IB PYP addresses students’ academic needs and their social and emotional well-being. It is taught both in Greek and English and it is based on the curriculum of the Ministry of Education, all in accordance with the strategies and strands of the International Baccalaureate. The PYP Curriculum Framework is implemented from nursery school and is completed at the end of primary school (3-12 years).

It is a programme that helps develop a wider range of learning in younger minds. We believe that even the youngest minds are capable of the biggest adventures in learning. The curriculum framework addresses students’ academic needs and their social and emotional well-being in a carefully balanced way, that ensures a strong and resilient preparation for the challenges of secondary education.
The IB Primary Years Programme, PYP supports students’ efforts to gain understanding of the world and to function comfortably within it. It also helps students establish personal values as a foundation upon which international-mindedness will develop and flourish.
