Library

The role of the library in an IB school is central as it consists of all the research resources used by both students and teachers during the school year.

ISP Library Rules & Regulations for Primary School Students

Early Years

All Early Years students have a lesson with the Librarian once a week.
Pre-Kindergarten (KG2) and Kindergarten (KG3) classes may borrow one book per week.

Lending

  • On the day of library class, each student must carry a library bag (provided by the school at an additional cost) with his/her name on it.
  • Books are borrowed for 7 days. On returning the borrowed book, the children present the subject matter to their classmates. They then borrow a new book.
  • The children are encouraged by the teachers to borrow books which are written in both Greek and English.
  • In order to borrow a new book, it is a prerequisite that the previous book has been returned.
  • In case of loss or destruction of the book, it must be replaced.

We would like you to firmly support your child’s literary concerns by reading with your child and filling out the weekly “My Library Journal”, Literary Reading Journal, which you will find in your child’s library bag.

Primary

Lending

  • Students may borrow library materials only in the presence of the Librarian.
  • Information books (encyclopedias, dictionaries, reference books) are not borrowed from the Library.
  • The borrowing is carried out with the full name of the pupils and according to the timetable for borrowing, as it is established at the beginning of each school year (you will be informed electronically).
  • If someone wishes to keep the book for longer than the scheduled time, they can renew their loan up to 2 times, bringing it to the Library for the necessary actions.
  • If the book is not returned by the scheduled return date (always indicated on the last page of the book), you will receive a reminder message.
  • If the book is lost or damaged, it must be replaced.

They can be borrowed from the Library in total
